"Being an artiste myself I know the trials and tribulations they undergo to find a proper opening and appreciative audience," says V Gopal, resident of Dombivli, who had organised an entertaining program to showcase young talent at Thakur Hall, Dombivli East on June 7.

Titled Dhanvijay Music Troupe, the orchestra coordinated by R T Rajan gives an opening to talented singers and dancers. The evening began with a scintillating "Shivathandavam" by duo dancers Ramya Krishnan and Sonia Malgundkar, disciples of renowned dance guru Pavithra Bhatt.
They had selected the popular number from Kamalhasan's all time favourite movie Salangai Oli. Solo recital of Mere Dolna by Ramya added to the cheer of the audience. Songs from popular movies were rendered by Gopal, Tyagu, Deepa Tyagarajan and others.
"Tyagu from Chennai who dressed up as Sivaji Ganesan and M G Ramachandran presented popular songs of the famous actors of yesteryears and received loud applause for his characterization," informs Gopal. R T Rajan known as Mumbai Isai Raja conducted the orchestra show with practiced ease and perfect coordination.
"Three years ago Matangi Soundarrajan started singing in our programs and she is now famous as first prize winner of musical shows like Ennodu Pattu Padungal on Jaya Tv moderated by playback singer S P Balasubramaniam and second prize winner in Adhiradi Singer in Sun TV. We are very proud to have given her a platform when she needed it," says Gopal. Matangi sang with the orchestra much to the delight of the audience.
"I was playing with full vigour when I got news of my father meeting with an accident. I was terribly upset but as they say the show must go on. The claps and accolades I got for the jugalbandi song Mama Mappillai from the vintage movie Bale Pandiya was worth all the tension that I underwent," says Ram Mohan who plays mridangam, tabla and recites rhythmic jatis with equal elan.
"We got tremendous support from local Tamil groups like Tamil Magalir Mandram and Tamil Makkal Mandram and also from Mani of Namasankeertanam group and V Ganesan. It gives us courage and motivation to conduct programs in a bigger way," concludes Gopal.
