Man fires at trader; absconds

A reported dispute over business prompted a man to fire at a trader in Ulhasnagar last week

A dispute over a card game resulted in one of the players killing the other in Ulhasnagar. According to police reports, Kanhaiyalal Jagyasi (42), a resident of Baroda in Gujarat and a garments trader by profession was allegedly shot at by another named Anil after the former refused to pay the money he had lost in a game of cards.
The incident happened on Saturday at Swami Deoram Darbar dormitory where the two along with a third person who was involved in a play of cards. The men had come to Ulhasnagar to attend a religious programme. The alleged victim, Kanhaiyalal Jagyasi, 42, a resident of Baroda in Gujarat, was staying at Swami Deoram Darbar dormitory. Around 11 pm, one of his acquaintances, Anil alias Anthony, came to the room with another person and the three were involved in a game of cards. However, Jagyasi refused to pay the money that he lost in the game that led to an argument between the three. The argument turned violent with Anil allegedly firing a shot at Jagyasi who was was hit on the right shoulder and waist.
An injured Jagyasi immediately raised an alarm and his cousin Mahesh admitted him to a private hospital for treatment. After initial investigations it was revealed that both Anil and the injured had a dispute over business.
After the firing, Anil and his accomplice reportedly fled from the spot and a team from the Hill Line police station is on the lookout of Anil and his accomplice.
